Red Mountain Creek: Toxic Beauty
  • Red Mountain Creek: Toxic Beauty

I completed this painting just before the environmental disaster in the Animas River (CO) in August 2015. The painting is based on a scene along a creek not far from the Animas, and after doing little research it seems the unusual colors that intrigued me at this creek are also from mineral deposits from old mines. So strange that something so unusually beautiful could also be toxic.
